The WVPCA, along with over two dozen other West Virginia organizations have joined the West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) in upholding the longstanding and effective school immunization requirements. As a national leader in school-aged immunization rates, the Mountain State has successfully prevented serious illness and saved lives. For these reasons, we collectively request Governor Justice veto House Bill 5105. 

The West Virginia Primary Care Association and its members provide community-based, primary health care to 543,000 West Virginians annually, creating the largest health network in the state. Over half of the 525 locations are school-based health centers, all of which provide access - regardless of ability to pay - to individuals in need of healthcare, including immunizations. Community health centers keep students in the classroom where they can learn, grow, and thrive. A keystone to this whole child approach is staying up-to-date on their immunizations.
